About UV Filters
A UV filter is a clear, multi-coated filter that stays on your lens to protect the front element from scratches, dust, rain and fingerprints. On digital cameras it has no visible effect on colour or exposure, so you can leave it on all the time.
We stock the Urth UV range in Standard and Plus+ tiers, and B+W's German-made 010 UV filters. Choose the size printed after the ø symbol on your lens.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a UV filter on a digital camera?
Not for image quality, because digital sensors are not sensitive to UV in the way film is. Most people fit one as cheap protection for the front of the lens, which costs far more to repair.
Does a UV filter need exposure compensation?
No. A clear UV filter lets almost all visible light through, so you do not need to adjust your settings.
What is the difference between Urth Standard and Plus+?
Plus+ filters use SCHOTT glass and a thicker nano coating that repels water, oil and dust and is easier to wipe clean. Standard filters use Japanese optical glass with a multi-layer coating and cost less.
