At a glance: The Urth 62mm UV Filter is a clear protective filter for lenses with a 62mm thread, made with Japanese AGC glass and covered by a lifetime warranty.
About this accessory
Urth's Standard UV filter in 62mm is a thread-in clear filter built from Japanese AGC optical glass. A multi-layer nano-coating (8 layers per Urth) helps transmission and cuts glare, and the ultra-slim aluminium frame is designed to limit vignetting.
Think of it as cheap insurance for a front element. It is clear, so there is no exposure compensation to think about, and the warranty is for life. Plus+ and Pro are the step-ups, with SCHOTT B270 glass and tempered AERO-C10 glass respectively.

Best for
Good for walkers, travellers and casual shooters who want to protect a lens with a 62mm thread without spending much. Fit it once and forget it, or use it as a spare for a second lens of the same thread.
Frequently asked questions
What lenses take the 62mm UV Filter?
Any lens with a 62mm front thread will take it. Your lens will have its filter thread printed on the barrel or cap, shown as ø followed by millimetres. 62mm means this one fits without any adapters.
Is a UV filter worth fitting to a modern lens?
Not for image quality, as digital sensors are far less sensitive to UV than film. Most people fit a clear UV filter as a cheap, replaceable guard against scratches, dust and fingerprints on the front element.
Do I need to adjust exposure with this filter?
No exposure compensation is needed. It is a clear filter, so your normal metering and settings carry on as before.
How does the Standard tier differ from Plus+ and Pro?
Standard uses Japanese AGC optical glass with a multi-layer coating. Plus+ moves to SCHOTT B270 glass with a 30-layer dual-side coating, and Pro uses tempered AERO-C10 glass with a 34-layer coating.
Why buy from Bass & Bligh
Bought from a real shop, not a warehouse.

George P.Ordered a lens onlineA proper little treasure trove
3rd time I've been to this shop to treat myself to some new kit. Always very friendly and knowledgeable. Fairly priced too. I would highly recommend a visit if your nearby and looking for camera gear. I'd say if they don't have what your looking for, it's probably not possible to find anywhere. It's a proper little treasure trove.
