The Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR is Nikon's flagship professional standard zoom, updated in 2015 with electromagnetic aperture (E-type), Nano Crystal coating, fluorine front element and Nikon's first VR on a 24-70 f/2.8. A definitive working zoom for Nikon full-frame pros.

A definitive full-frame pro zoom - 24-70 f/2.8 is the default wedding, event, press and editorial zoom, and the E VR version adds the stabilisation pros had been asking Nikon for since the original. E-type aperture requires a compatible Nikon body (D750, D810, D850, D500, D5/D6 and later).

Frequently asked questions

Will it work on my older Nikon DSLR?

Only on bodies that support E-type (electromagnetic) aperture lenses. D4/D5/D6, D750, D780, D810, D850, D500 and newer bodies are fully supported. On older DSLRs (D90, D300, D3000 series) the lens may only shoot wide open or not at all.

Does this lens have image stabilisation?

Yes - VR, up to 4 stops. This is the first Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 with VR.

Will it autofocus on entry-level Nikon DSLRs (D3xxx / D5xxx)?

Yes. The built-in AF-S silent-wave motor handles autofocus in-lens, so this works on every Nikon F-mount DSLR including entry-level bodies.
