The Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX DG HSM is Sigma's full-frame ultra-wide zoom - one of the widest rectilinear (non-fisheye) zooms available for full-frame DSLRs at the time of its release. 12mm on full-frame gives genuinely dramatic wide-angle perspective for architecture, interiors and landscape.

A serious ultra-wide zoom for Nikon full-frame (FX) DSLRs. At 12mm on FX, the angle of view is roughly 122° - notably wider than a typical 14mm or 16mm. The bulbous front element means no front filters; use rear gelatin or a specialist filter holder. On DX it becomes a more conventional 18-36mm ultra-wide.

No - the bulbous front element makes a standard screw-in filter impossible. Rear gelatin filter holder or specialist 150mm-class square filter systems are the workaround options.
