The Nikon AF 60mm f/2.8D Micro Nikkor is a compact macro prime for full-frame and DX Nikon DSLRs. Offering 1:1 life-size reproduction, it has been a staple product, nature, and copy work lens in Nikon's lineup since the D-type update in 1993.

Best for
Equally useful for macro subjects (small products, jewellery, insects, document copy) and for portraits or general photography. On a DX body it becomes a 90mm equivalent - a useful short telephoto. Requires a Nikon DSLR with an in-body AF motor for autofocus. Superseded by the 60mm f/2.8G AF-S version in 2008.

Will it autofocus on entry-level Nikon DSLRs (D3xxx / D5xxx)?
No. This lens uses screw-drive autofocus and requires a Nikon body with an in-body AF motor (D7xxx, D8xx or pro bodies, or older film SLRs). On entry-level bodies it can be used in manual focus only.
