How does rangefinder focus work?
A rangefinder uses a mirror and prism to superimpose two images of the subject in the viewfinder. As you turn the focus ring, the images align when focus is correct. More precise than zone focus, faster than SLR focus for experienced users, and quieter (no mirror slap).
