The Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L USM Fisheye is Canon's professional L-series zoom fisheye, released in 2011. Weather-sealed construction and Canon's fluorine front element coating.

Works with

  • Canon EF-mount full-frame DSLRs (5D series, 6D, 1D series) - full fisheye range
  • Canon EF-mount APS-C DSLRs - diagonal fisheye at wider focal lengths (no circular fisheye)
  • Canon RF mirrorless via EF-EOS R adapter - AF preserved

Best for

A highly specialised L-series fisheye for creative wide-angle work, astro, VR/360 content and architecture. Circular fisheye (8mm) gives a 180° image in a round frame on full-frame; diagonal fisheye (15mm) covers the full frame with heavy barrel distortion. On APS-C the 8mm becomes roughly a 12.8mm diagonal fisheye.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between circular and diagonal fisheye?

Circular fisheye (8mm on full-frame) puts the entire 180° field into a round image inside a black frame. Diagonal fisheye (15mm on full-frame) fills the whole rectangular frame with 180° across the diagonal. This lens does both.

Will it work on Canon RF mirrorless bodies?

Yes, via the Canon EF-EOS R adapter. Autofocus is preserved, and the lens functions normally on R, R5, R6, R7, R8, R50 and other RF bodies.

Does this lens have image stabilisation?

No — this lens does not have image stabilisation.
