What's the 'NL' and 'Pure' in the name?
NL stands for the new 'revolutionary' line Swarovski introduced around 2020, replacing their earlier EL line at the flagship level. 'Pure' indicates the range's focus on optical purity and wide field of view. The NL Pure is their flagship binocular.
Why 52mm rather than 42mm?
52mm objectives deliver a 5.2mm exit pupil at 10x (52mm / 10x) compared to 4.2mm with 42mm - noticeably brighter in low light (dawn, dusk). At the cost of extra weight and size, you get meaningfully improved dim-light performance.
