At a glance: The Kodak Ultra 128GB is an SDXC UHS-I card rated U3 and V30, with up to 100MB/s read and 85MB/s write, for 4K video and RAW bursts.

About this accessory

The Kodak Ultra 128GB is an SDXC memory card rated UHS-I U3, V30 and Class 10. Quoted speeds are up to 100MB/s read and 85MB/s write, which are manufacturer maximums. It is aimed at 4K video and continuous RAW shooting on DSLR and mirrorless cameras.

U3 and V30 both mean at least 30MB/s sustained write, enough for typical 4K recording. The 128GB size is the better pick over the 64GB if you shoot video or a lot of RAW files, as it holds twice as much before you need to offload. It is SDXC only, so check that your camera supports SDXC.

Frequently asked questions

Does V30 mean the card writes at 30MB/s?

V30 means it will not drop below 30MB/s sustained write. This card is quoted at up to 85MB/s write, so 30MB/s is the guaranteed floor rather than the top speed.

Is 128GB enough for 4K video?

It holds a good amount, but 4K files are large, and the time depends on your camera's bitrate. Check the recording bitrate in your camera menu to estimate how much footage fits.

Will it work in my camera?

It is an SDXC card, so the camera must support SDXC. Our Harrogate shop can check this for you.

What does UHS-I mean?

It is the interface standard the card uses, with a bus limit of roughly 100MB/s. UHS-II cards use extra pins for higher speeds and need a UHS-II camera to get them.

  • A proper little treasure trove

3rd time I've been to this shop to treat myself to some new kit. Always very friendly and knowledgeable. Fairly priced too. I would highly recommend a visit if your nearby and looking for camera gear. I'd say if they don't have what your looking for, it's probably not possible to find anywhere. It's a proper little treasure trove.
