The details
At a glance: Ilford Simplicity Starter Pack - beginner-friendly home B&W film developing kit with pre-measured sachets.
About this film
The Ilford Simplicity Film Developing Starter Pack is Ilford's entry-level kit for developing black-and-white film at home - contains sachets of developer, stopbath and fixer measured for single-use development. Simplifies home developing for beginners.
Build & handling
| Type | Home B&W film developing starter kit |
|---|---|
| Contents | Developer + Stop bath + Fixer (measured sachets) |
| Capacity | Typically sufficient for several rolls of film |
| Format | For 35mm (135) and 120 film |
Works with
- Any black-and-white film (35mm and 120 formats)
- Needs a film developing tank, reels, thermometer, and darkroom (or changing bag) for loading
Best for
An accessible entry into home film developing - premeasured sachets remove the complexity of mixing bulk chemistry. Just mix one sachet of each with water at the right temperature, develop, stop, fix, wash, hang to dry. Once comfortable, bulk-chemistry developing (Ilford HC-110, D-76) is more economical.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a darkroom?
Only for loading film onto the developing reel - a changing bag works instead (a light-tight fabric bag with armholes). Once the film is in the tank, developing can be done in any room because the tank is light-tight.
Why buy from Bass & Bligh
Bought from a real shop, not a warehouse.
Dispatched on the Monday… great service
Ordered a Panasonic four thirds lens dispatched on the Monday after purchase and delivered on the following Tuesday great service. Tried on the camera and initial thoughts are wow pin sharp and clear photos. Thank you
George P.Ordered a lens onlineA proper little treasure trove
3rd time I've been to this shop to treat myself to some new kit. Always very friendly and knowledgeable. Fairly priced too. I would highly recommend a visit if your nearby and looking for camera gear. I'd say if they don't have what your looking for, it's probably not possible to find anywhere. It's a proper little treasure trove.
Philip B.Third visit to the shopBrilliant advice with awesome customer service
Sure you can buy online and possibly save a few pounds.. but if you require and appreciate knowledge and brilliant advice with awesome customer service then it's a no brainer...This is a real camera shop like it used to be back int day..
