The details
At a glance: Fujifilm XF 35mm f/2 R WR - compact weather-sealed 53mm-equivalent standard prime for X mount.
About this lens
The Fujifilm XF 35mm f/2 R WR is the compact, weather-resistant standard prime for the X system - 53mm equivalent, which is the classic 'normal' field of view. Introduced in 2015 as a smaller, sealed, faster-focusing alternative to the older 35mm f/1.4, it trades a little maximum aperture for a much more discreet package, quicker and quieter autofocus, and full weather sealing.

Works with
- All Fujifilm X-mount bodies (X-T, X-H, X-Pro, X-E, X-S, X-A series)
- Weather sealing is fully effective on a sealed body
- 43mm screw-in filters
Best for
The natural everyday lens for any X-mount body - small enough to leave mounted permanently, sharp wide open, and sealed to match weather-resistant bodies like the X-T and X-H series. Its tapered barrel makes it one of the most discreet lenses in the range, which is why it is a favourite for street, travel and documentary work. If you specifically want shallower depth of field or the older rendering, the XF 35mm f/1.4 R is the alternative.
Frequently asked questions
How does it compare to the XF 35mm f/1.4 R?
The f/2 is smaller, lighter, weather-sealed, and focuses noticeably faster and more quietly. The f/1.4 gives a little more subject separation and has a rendering many photographers prefer, but it is slower to focus and not sealed.
Is 35mm a standard lens on this camera?
Yes. On Fujifilm's APS-C sensor the 1.5x crop factor makes a 35mm lens behave like a 53mm lens on full frame - the classic 'normal' perspective, close to how the eye frames a scene.
Why buy from Bass & Bligh
Bought from a real shop, not a warehouse.

George P.Ordered a lens onlineA proper little treasure trove
3rd time I've been to this shop to treat myself to some new kit. Always very friendly and knowledgeable. Fairly priced too. I would highly recommend a visit if your nearby and looking for camera gear. I'd say if they don't have what your looking for, it's probably not possible to find anywhere. It's a proper little treasure trove.
