The details
At a glance: Sony A7 II body - 24.3MP second-gen full-frame mirrorless, first Sony FE with 5-axis IBIS.
About this camera
The Sony A7 II is Sony's 2014 second-generation full-frame mirrorless - introduced 5-axis IBIS to the A7 series and refined the first-generation body. 24.3MP FX sensor, 117-point hybrid AF, 1080p video. Used heavily as a route into Sony full-frame for enthusiasts and as a backup body for pros.

Works with
- Native Sony E-mount lenses (FE full-frame + E APS-C, which auto-crop)
- Sony A-mount (Alpha) lenses via LA-EA3/LA-EA5 adapter
- Third-party FE lenses (Sigma, Tamron, Samyang, Viltrox, etc.)
Best for
A historically important Sony body - the A7 II was the first full-frame mirrorless camera with 5-axis in-body image stabilisation, a step-change that every Sony FE lens benefits from. Still a capable working body for stills, though modern A7 III/IV/V bodies offer significantly better AF and video.
Frequently asked questions
Is the A7 II still worth buying?
As an affordable entry into Sony full-frame with IBIS, yes - but modern A7 III (from 2018) and later bodies offer dramatically better AF, video and high-ISO. A7 II is a budget option if you want full-frame mirrorless with IBIS but don't need modern features.
Why buy from Bass & Bligh
Bought from a real shop, not a warehouse.
Dispatched on the Monday… great service
Ordered a Panasonic four thirds lens dispatched on the Monday after purchase and delivered on the following Tuesday great service. Tried on the camera and initial thoughts are wow pin sharp and clear photos. Thank you
George P.Ordered a lens onlineA proper little treasure trove
3rd time I've been to this shop to treat myself to some new kit. Always very friendly and knowledgeable. Fairly priced too. I would highly recommend a visit if your nearby and looking for camera gear. I'd say if they don't have what your looking for, it's probably not possible to find anywhere. It's a proper little treasure trove.
Philip B.Third visit to the shopBrilliant advice with awesome customer service
Sure you can buy online and possibly save a few pounds.. but if you require and appreciate knowledge and brilliant advice with awesome customer service then it's a no brainer...This is a real camera shop like it used to be back int day..
