The details
At a glance: Pentax K-5 IIs - 16MP weather-sealed APS-C DSLR without an anti-aliasing filter, in-body stabilisation.
About this camera
The Pentax K-5 IIs is the anti-aliasing-filter-free version of the K-5 II - the same 16MP weather-sealed APS-C DSLR, but with the low-pass filter removed for maximum per-pixel sharpness. It keeps the features the K-5 line is known for: extensive weather sealing, in-body Shake Reduction that stabilises any lens, and a bright pentaprism viewfinder with near-100% coverage.

Best for
The 16MP sensor in the K-5 series has an enduring reputation for excellent dynamic range and high-ISO performance. Removing the anti-aliasing filter in the IIs version trades a small risk of moire patterning on fine repeating fabric for visibly crisper fine detail - a trade landscape photographers generally welcome and studio or fashion photographers sometimes avoid.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the K-5 II and the K-5 IIs?
Only the anti-aliasing filter. The IIs has none, which gives slightly sharper fine detail at the cost of a small chance of moire on tightly repeating patterns such as fine fabric.
Is 16MP still enough?
For prints up to A3 and for all normal web and screen use, comfortably. The K-5 sensor is better regarded for its dynamic range and low-light behaviour than many higher-resolution sensors of the same era.
Does the weather sealing work with any lens?
The body is sealed, but for full protection you need a sealed lens too - Pentax marks these WR or DA*. With an unsealed lens the mount is the weak point.
Why buy from Bass & Bligh
Bought from a real shop, not a warehouse.
Dispatched on the Monday… great service

George P.Ordered a lens onlineA proper little treasure trove
3rd time I've been to this shop to treat myself to some new kit. Always very friendly and knowledgeable. Fairly priced too. I would highly recommend a visit if your nearby and looking for camera gear. I'd say if they don't have what your looking for, it's probably not possible to find anywhere. It's a proper little treasure trove.
Philip B.Third visit to the shopBrilliant advice with awesome customer service
Sure you can buy online and possibly save a few pounds.. but if you require and appreciate knowledge and brilliant advice with awesome customer service then it's a no brainer...This is a real camera shop like it used to be back int day..
