The benchmark premium point-and-shoot for film photographers - very small, quick to use, and with a lens sharp enough that results stand comparison with far larger cameras. The f/2.8 maximum aperture and reliable flash make it capable in poor light. Prices have risen sharply as film compacts have become collectable, and the champagne finish is the more common of the two colours.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as the mju II Zoom?
No, and the difference matters. The plain mju II has a fixed 35mm f/2.8 prime lens, which is what gives it its reputation for sharpness. The Zoom versions trade that for a variable zoom lens with a much slower aperture and softer results - they are not as desirable.
Can it be repaired if something fails?
Only up to a point. Spares for these are scarce and the electronics are not economically serviceable, so condition matters more than usual. Do check the flash, autofocus and film transport all work before relying on one.
