- DX lenses cover the sensor fully; FX (full-frame) F-mount lenses fit and work but are cropped by the 1.5x DX factor
- F-mount lenses can later be adapted to Nikon Z mirrorless bodies via the FTZ/FTZ II adapter (screw-drive AF and AF-D lenses become manual focus on the adapter)

Yes. It has a built-in autofocus motor, so screw-drive AF and AF-D lenses autofocus normally - something Nikon's entry-level DX bodies cannot do, as they rely on a motor in the lens.
Does it have a low-pass (anti-aliasing) filter?
No. Nikon omitted the optical low-pass filter to draw maximum detail from the 24.1MP sensor, at a slightly higher risk of moire on fine, repeating patterns.
What is the 1.3x crop mode for?
It records a smaller central portion of the sensor, raising continuous shooting to 7fps and giving extra effective reach for distant subjects.
Does it have image stabilisation?
There is no in-body stabilisation. Stabilisation comes from Nikon VR lenses, as is normal for a DSLR of this era.
