The details
At a glance: Nikon D3400 + AF-P 18-55 VR - 24MP entry-level APS-C DSLR kit, strong battery life.
About this camera
The Nikon D3400 is Nikon's 2016 entry-level APS-C DSLR - 24MP sensor, SnapBridge Bluetooth image transfer, and notably good battery life (up to 1200 shots per charge). Bundled here with the AF-P 18-55mm VR kit lens - AF-P's stepping motor is smoother and quieter than earlier AF-S versions, particularly useful for video.

Works with
- Accepts Nikon F-mount lenses - autofocuses only on AF-S, AF-P, AF-I lenses
- Older AF/AF-D screw-drive lenses mount and meter but only work in manual focus
- Will accept DX and FX lenses (both work)
- Cannot mount Nikon Z lenses
Best for
A practical entry-level DSLR - 24MP for stills, 1080p video, decent AF for static subjects, and class-leading battery life. The AF-P kit lens uses a stepping motor for smooth silent focus (great for video) but requires firmware-supporting body - the D3400 is one of the bodies that supports it natively. No in-body AF motor, so older AF/AF-D screw-drive Nikon lenses only work in manual focus.
Frequently asked questions
What's included in this kit?
The Nikon D3400 body + the Nikon AF-P DX 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR kit zoom lens. The AF-P lens uses a stepping motor for smooth silent autofocus - particularly good for video.
Will my old AF screw-drive Nikon lens autofocus on the D3400?
No - the D3400 has no built-in body AF motor. Only AF-S, AF-P and AF-I lenses will autofocus.
Why buy from Bass & Bligh
Bought from a real shop, not a warehouse.

George P.Ordered a lens onlineA proper little treasure trove
3rd time I've been to this shop to treat myself to some new kit. Always very friendly and knowledgeable. Fairly priced too. I would highly recommend a visit if your nearby and looking for camera gear. I'd say if they don't have what your looking for, it's probably not possible to find anywhere. It's a proper little treasure trove.
Philip B.Third visit to the shopBrilliant advice with awesome customer service
