About this lens
The Nikon AF Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 is Nikon's long-serving 1:1 macro standard prime. First released in 1989 (D variant 1993), this is the screw-drive predecessor to the AF-S G version - fully capable at 1:1 reproduction, widely used for product, jewellery and close-up work.

Best for
A compact, sharp 1:1 macro prime on full-frame. Short working distance at life-size makes it best suited to inanimate subjects (product, jewellery, documents) rather than insects that need distance. Uses screw-drive AF, so it requires a Nikon body with a built-in autofocus motor.

Is it true 1:1 macro?
Yes. 1:1 (life-size) maximum magnification at the 0.22m minimum focus distance.
Will it autofocus on entry-level Nikon DSLRs (D3xxx / D5xxx)?
No. This is a screw-drive AF lens and entry-level Nikon DSLRs don't have a built-in autofocus motor, so you'd be stuck with manual focus. For AF on those bodies you'd need the AF-S Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G.
Does this lens have image stabilisation?
No — this lens does not have image stabilisation.
