How do extension tubes work?
Extension tubes sit between the lens and the camera body, increasing the lens-to-sensor distance. This shifts the lens's focusing range closer, enabling greater magnification than the lens can achieve alone. They contain no optics - just electronic contacts.
Will they work with any MFT lens?
In principle yes - they work with any MFT lens that has autofocus (AF and metering pass through the electronic contacts). Some lenses benefit more than others - longer telephotos benefit most for magnification; wider lenses can focus to unusual close distances.
