About this lens

The Fujifilm XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR is Fujifilm's flagship ultra-wide zoom for X-mount APS-C - 12-24mm full-frame equivalent, constant f/2.8, weather-sealed. The widest rectilinear zoom in the X-mount lineup. Used for landscape, architecture, astrophotography and interior work where serious width and speed matter.

Image stabilisation No (relies on IBIS-equipped Fujifilm bodies)
Weather resistance Yes - sealed at 10 points, -10°C operation

Filter thread None (bulbous front element)
Weight 805g
Construction Aspherical + ED + Super ED glass, Nano-GI coating, weather-sealed

Works with

  • Fujifilm X-mount mirrorless APS-C bodies (X-T5, X-T4, X-H2, X-H2S, X-S20, X-E4, X-Pro3, etc.)
  • Not designed for Fujifilm GFX medium format (different mount)

Best for

A pro-grade ultra-wide zoom - 12mm equivalent on the wide end is dramatic, constant f/2.8 gives strong low-light and astro capability, weather sealing pairs with X-T5/X-H2/X-H2S for outdoor work. Bulbous front element means no screw-in filters; specialist 100mm/150mm filter holders are the workaround.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use front filters with this lens?

No - the bulbous front element makes a screw-in filter impossible.

Is this lens weather-resistant?

Yes - sealed at 10 points and rated for -10°C operation.

Does this lens have image stabilisation?

No — this lens does not have image stabilisation.

  • A proper little treasure trove

3rd time I've been to this shop to treat myself to some new kit. Always very friendly and knowledgeable. Fairly priced too. I would highly recommend a visit if your nearby and looking for camera gear. I'd say if they don't have what your looking for, it's probably not possible to find anywhere. It's a proper little treasure trove.
