About this lens
The Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 is a classic Canon manual-focus wide-angle prime from the FD-mount era (pre-EF, 1970s-80s). Fixed FD mount for Canon film SLRs like the AE-1, A-1, F-1, and T90. Compact and sharp - a popular wide prime for Canon FD users.

Works with
- Canon FD-mount film SLRs (AE-1, A-1, F-1, T90 and similar era)

- Not compatible with Canon EF / EF-S / RF / EF-M mounts without adapter
Best for
A characterful classic Canon FD prime - 28mm wide perspective on full-frame, manual focus. Works on Canon FD-mount film SLRs (AE-1, A-1, F-1, T90 and others) as well as on modern mirrorless bodies via FD-to-mirrorless adapters (manual focus only). A popular adapted lens for Fuji X, Sony E, and MFT users.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use this on a Canon EF DSLR?
Not directly - the FD mount is physically different from EF. Adapters exist but typically add an optical element that degrades image quality. For digital use, adapting FD lenses to mirrorless cameras (Fuji, Sony, MFT) with simple mechanical adapters works better.
Why buy from Bass & Bligh
Bought from a real shop, not a warehouse.
Dispatched on the Monday… great service
Ordered a Panasonic four thirds lens dispatched on the Monday after purchase and delivered on the following Tuesday great service. Tried on the camera and initial thoughts are wow pin sharp and clear photos. Thank you
George P.Ordered a lens onlineA proper little treasure trove
3rd time I've been to this shop to treat myself to some new kit. Always very friendly and knowledgeable. Fairly priced too. I would highly recommend a visit if your nearby and looking for camera gear. I'd say if they don't have what your looking for, it's probably not possible to find anywhere. It's a proper little treasure trove.
Philip B.Third visit to the shopBrilliant advice with awesome customer service
