The details
At a glance: Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD - full-frame tele-zoom for Nikon FX, stabilised, silent AF.
About this lens
The Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD is a full-frame telephoto zoom for Nikon FX with VC stabilisation and USD silent autofocus - a significant upgrade over plain consumer 70-300s. A practical mid-range telephoto for wildlife, sports and distant subjects without the weight of a 70-200 f/2.8 or a 100-400-class zoom.

Works with
- Nikon F-mount full-frame DSLRs (D750, D780, D810, D850, D6 and older)
- Nikon F-mount APS-C DSLRs (acts as ~105-450mm equivalent)
- Nikon Z mirrorless via FTZ/FTZ II adapter - AF and VC preserved
Best for
A competent mid-range telephoto for Nikon FX - brighter and more capable than basic consumer 70-300s, lighter than pro tele-zooms. USD silent AF and 4-stop VC make it genuinely hand-holdable at 300mm. On DX it becomes a 105-450mm equivalent, useful for wildlife.
Frequently asked questions
Will it autofocus on entry-level Nikon DSLRs (D3xxx / D5xxx)?
Yes. The built-in USD motor handles autofocus in-lens.
Does this lens have image stabilisation?
Yes - Tamron VC, up to 4 stops.
Why buy from Bass & Bligh
Bought from a real shop, not a warehouse.
Dispatched on the Monday… great service
Ordered a Panasonic four thirds lens dispatched on the Monday after purchase and delivered on the following Tuesday great service. Tried on the camera and initial thoughts are wow pin sharp and clear photos. Thank you
George P.Ordered a lens onlineA proper little treasure trove
3rd time I've been to this shop to treat myself to some new kit. Always very friendly and knowledgeable. Fairly priced too. I would highly recommend a visit if your nearby and looking for camera gear. I'd say if they don't have what your looking for, it's probably not possible to find anywhere. It's a proper little treasure trove.
Philip B.Third visit to the shopBrilliant advice with awesome customer service
