The details
At a glance: Sigma 18-200mm DC Macro OS HSM - APS-C superzoom for Canon, stabilised, silent HSM autofocus.
About this lens
The Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM is a third-party all-in-one superzoom for Canon APS-C (EF-S compatible) DSLRs. Covers a wide-to-telephoto 11.1x range with Sigma's OS stabilisation and HSM silent autofocus - a common choice for travel where one lens has to cover everything.
Build & handling
| Autofocus | HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) |
|---|---|
| Image stabilisation | Yes - Sigma OS, approximately 4 stops |
| Minimum focus distance | 0.39m |
| Filter thread | 62mm |
| Weight | 430g |
| Construction | Aspherical and SLD glass elements |
Works with
- Canon EF-S APS-C DSLRs (Rebel series, 7D, 80D, 90D, etc.)
- Not designed for Canon EF full-frame DSLRs (DC is APS-C only)
- Canon RF APS-C mirrorless (R7, R10, R50) via EF-EOS R adapter
Best for
A third-party travel superzoom for Canon APS-C DSLRs. One lens covers landscape, street, portrait and light wildlife reach - optical compromises come with any 11.1x zoom, but OS stabilisation and HSM silent AF make it a genuinely practical single-lens kit. Sigma DC means APS-C only - won't mount/work correctly on Canon full-frame.
Frequently asked questions
Will it work on a Canon full-frame DSLR like the 5D?
Not fully. Sigma DC lenses are designed for APS-C coverage - on a full-frame body you'll get heavy vignetting at the wide end.
Does this lens have image stabilisation?
Yes - Sigma's OS system, roughly equivalent to 4 stops of shake reduction.
Will it work on Canon RF mirrorless bodies?
No. Canon EF-S lenses do not mount on RF mirrorless bodies. Consider an RF-S lens (for APS-C RF bodies) or a full-frame EF lens with the EF-EOS R adapter instead.
Why buy from Bass & Bligh
Bought from a real shop, not a warehouse.
Dispatched on the Monday… great service

George P.Ordered a lens onlineA proper little treasure trove
3rd time I've been to this shop to treat myself to some new kit. Always very friendly and knowledgeable. Fairly priced too. I would highly recommend a visit if your nearby and looking for camera gear. I'd say if they don't have what your looking for, it's probably not possible to find anywhere. It's a proper little treasure trove.
Philip B.Third visit to the shopBrilliant advice with awesome customer service
Sure you can buy online and possibly save a few pounds.. but if you require and appreciate knowledge and brilliant advice with awesome customer service then it's a no brainer...This is a real camera shop like it used to be back int day..
