About this lens
The Olympus E-410 is Olympus's 2007 Four Thirds (FT) mirror-based DSLR - one of the smallest, lightest DSLRs ever made. 10MP Four Thirds sensor, Live View (early for DSLRs of its era). This twin-lens kit bundles the body with two Zuiko Digital lenses (typically 14-42mm and 40-150mm).

Works with
- Accepts Olympus Four Thirds (FT) mount lenses - Zuiko Digital 14-42, 40-150, etc.
- NOT compatible with Micro Four Thirds (MFT) lenses - different mount (FT has mirror box, MFT doesn't)
- FT-to-MFT adapters exist to use FT lenses on MFT bodies, but not the other way around
Best for
A pioneering compact DSLR - the Olympus E-410 was one of the smallest and lightest interchangeable-lens DSLRs ever made when released. Four Thirds (NOT Micro Four Thirds) mount - the precursor to MFT. Still mounts have an optical flange distance and mirror box; Micro Four Thirds removed the mirror for mirrorless. Twin-lens kit gives 28-84mm + 80-300mm-equivalent coverage in two compact lenses.
Frequently asked questions
Is Four Thirds the same as Micro Four Thirds?
No - they're different mounts. Four Thirds (FT) was Olympus/Panasonic's DSLR mount with a mirror box and 38.67mm flange distance. Micro Four Thirds (MFT) is the mirrorless successor with 19.25mm flange distance and no mirror. They share the same sensor size but the mounts are physically different.
Can I use Four Thirds lenses on a Micro Four Thirds body?
Yes - with an adapter like the Olympus MMF-3. AF is generally slower than with native MFT lenses but it works. Going the other way (MFT lenses on FT bodies) is NOT possible.
