About this lens
The Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR is Nikon's flagship professional telephoto zoom, released in 2016. The 'FL' designation refers to fluorite lens elements that dramatically reduce weight without compromising optical quality. The 'E' denotes electromagnetic aperture control for precise, consistent exposure in high-speed shooting.

Frequently asked questions
Will it work on my older Nikon DSLR?
Only on bodies that support E-type (electromagnetic) aperture lenses. D3s, D4/D5/D6, D750, D780, D810, D850, D500 and newer bodies are fully supported. On older DSLRs (D90, D300, D3000 series) the lens may only shoot wide open or not at all.
Does this lens have image stabilisation?
Yes - VR with Normal and Sport modes, up to 4 stops. Sport mode is designed for tracking moving subjects, giving a more stable viewfinder image at the cost of slightly less shake reduction.
What is 'FL' in the name?
FL = Fluorite. Fluorite elements dramatically reduce weight compared to traditional glass, keeping this 70-200 f/2.8 around 200g lighter than earlier versions without compromising optical quality.
Will it autofocus on entry-level Nikon DSLRs (D3xxx / D5xxx)?
Yes. The built-in AF-S silent-wave motor handles autofocus in-lens, so this works on every Nikon F-mount DSLR including entry-level bodies.
