The Nikon AF-S 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED DX is a compact, lightweight telephoto zoom designed specifically for Nikon's DX (APS-C) DSLRs. Released in 2007 as a natural pairing with 18-55mm kit zooms, it extends reach up to a 300mm equivalent focal length on crop sensors.

The non-VR original version; the later 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VR II added stabilisation. Not designed for full-frame Nikon bodies (will vignette heavily).
