About this lens
The Fujifilm XF 18mm f/2 R is the original 27mm-equivalent wide prime in Fujifilm's X-mount lineup - one of the first three primes released with the X-Pro1 in 2012. A pancake-style small-profile wide prime, widely used on X-Pro and X-E bodies for street and documentary work.

Best for
One of the original X-mount primes - small, light, classic-styled, with an aperture ring and fast f/2 aperture. 27mm on APS-C is classic documentary/street focal length. Autofocus is slower than modern XF primes (non-LM) but still usable. A favourite on X-Pro1/X-Pro2 style bodies for its compact form.

The f/1.4 LM WR version (2021) is optically superior, has faster and quieter LM autofocus, and is weather-sealed - but it's also larger, heavier, and more expensive. The f/2 R is smaller, lighter, less expensive - an excellent compact option if you don't need the extra stop or modern AF.
