At a glance: Sony NEX-5 + 18-55 OSS kit - 2010 early compact APS-C mirrorless, LCD-only.
About this lens
The Sony NEX-5 is Sony's 2010 compact APS-C mirrorless body - one of the first mirrorless cameras ever released. Originally sold with a 18-55mm kit zoom (bundled here). A very small and light interchangeable-lens body, though now a legacy product - modern a6x00 bodies are significantly more capable.

Best for
A historically notable camera - the NEX-5 was one of the earliest mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras, introducing Sony's E-mount system in 2010. Extremely compact, tilting LCD (no EVF). Functional today but significantly outclassed by modern a6x00 bodies. Of interest as an affordable entry into Sony E-mount.
Frequently asked questions
Is the NEX-5 still useful today?
For casual use and collectors, yes. For serious work, an a6000/a6300/a6500/a6600 offers dramatically better AF, higher resolution, EVF, and overall capability.
