Best for

A digital rangefinder for serious M-system photographers - fully manual focus via Leica's optical rangefinder, capable of using any Leica M-mount lens from 1954 to the present day. The M (Typ 240) was notable for adding 1080p video (rare on a Leica M), a 24MP sensor and live-view capability. Working tool for documentary, street, and deliberate photography.

Frequently asked questions

Does it autofocus?

No - Leica M bodies are manual-focus only, operated via an optical rangefinder. The rangefinder patch shows a split image that aligns when focus is correct. A deliberate, characterful way to shoot.

Will my Leica M lenses from the film era work?

Yes - M-mount lenses from 1954 to the present will mount and work on the M (Typ 240). Focus-coupling via the rangefinder works as on film M bodies. Older M39 screw-mount lenses work via an M-mount adapter.
