The details
At a glance: Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 R WR - flagship portrait prime for X-mount APS-C, 85mm-equivalent at f/1.2.
About this lens
The Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 R WR is Fujifilm's flagship portrait prime for X-mount APS-C. At 56mm on APS-C it gives an 85mm full-frame equivalent at an exceptionally fast f/1.2 - essentially the Fujifilm equivalent of a Canon 85mm f/1.2L or Nikon 85mm f/1.4. Updated in 2022 with LM motor and weather sealing.

Best for
Fujifilm's flagship portrait prime - exceptionally fast f/1.2 at 85mm-equivalent, beautiful out-of-focus rendering, fast reliable AF (big improvement over the older f/1.2 version). Used for weddings, events, professional portraits, and anywhere you need shallow depth of field and subject isolation on Fujifilm APS-C.
Frequently asked questions
How does this compare to the older XF 56mm f/1.2?
The newer R WR version (2022) adds weather sealing, an LM linear autofocus motor (significantly faster and quieter than the older AF motor), and an updated 11-blade aperture. Optically both are strong, but the WR version is a more modern, reliable working lens.
Is this a good portrait lens?
Yes - 85mm-equivalent at f/1.2 is an uncommonly fast portrait combination, giving dramatic subject isolation and buttery-smooth backgrounds.
Does this lens have image stabilisation?
No — this lens does not have image stabilisation.
Why buy from Bass & Bligh
Bought from a real shop, not a warehouse.

George P.Ordered a lens onlineA proper little treasure trove
3rd time I've been to this shop to treat myself to some new kit. Always very friendly and knowledgeable. Fairly priced too. I would highly recommend a visit if your nearby and looking for camera gear. I'd say if they don't have what your looking for, it's probably not possible to find anywhere. It's a proper little treasure trove.
