Nikon 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR AF-S Lens

£3,499 £3,699

Compact build. Super-telephoto reach.

The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 500mm F5.6E PF ED VR is a super telephoto lens that uses a Phase Fresnel element to reduce the size and weight of what would otherwise be a enormous, heavy lens.

Use of a Phase Fresnel (PF) lens element noticeably reduces the weight of this prime lens, without degrading image quality. A minimum focus distance of just 3m furthers creative potential. Whether you’re capturing macro images of flowers in frost, or portraits of athlete’s faces. Should you need greater flexibility, you can increase your reach with an optional Nikon 1.4x, 1.7x, or 2x teleconverter.

Designed to reduce the blur caused by camera movement, Nikon's Vibration Reduction lets you shoot at shutter speeds up to 4 stops slower than without VR. VR activates the instant you press the camera’s exposure button halfway, and operation is quiet. SPORT VR mode is helpful when shooting exceptionally fast action, or when panning. It delivers a more stable viewfinder image, even during continuous shooting, without compromising image quality.

The Phase Fresnel (PF) lens element helps keep the lens compact, and a fluorine coating repels water, dust, and dirt. Every movable part of the lens barrel is sealed to protect from dust and water droplets. Ball bearings in the tripod collar ring ensure smooth transitions between horizontal and vertical shooting.

We will buy or part-exchange your cameras, lenses, accessories, spotting scopes and binoculars.

We are able to give you a rough price - however we will need to see your gear to give you a final price.

The market fluctuates rapidly and there are a number of considerations we have to make when purchasing equipment from our customers. Our prices undoubtedly are less than you would get if you were to sell privately. The reason for this is, when we sell them to a customer we have to provide a warranty - and with growing costs for repairs this has to be a key consideration.

We’ll always offer as fair a deal as possible and are happy to negotiate or in some instances offer a commission sales basis.

To enquire about selling or part exchanging any items, please complete our online form and ensure you select 'Selling / Part Exchange' within the enquiry type dropdown.
